What Happens After Microneedling?
After microneedling, patients may experience some redness or swelling for 24-48 hours. In rare cases, bruising may appear, but this should resolve in about 7-10 days. Patients may also experience some itching or dryness around the treatment area. In most cases, these symptoms are mild and don’t require any special treatment other than drinking plenty of water and using an over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream if necessary.
If you have never had microneedling before, you may think: “Does microneedling hurt?”
The answer is that there is some mild pain during microneedling. The sensation most often described by our clients is like very mild sandpaper rubbing across your face. The needles used for the treatment are so tiny that they don’t cause any discomfort during or after the actual procedure, and the radio frequency helps to reduce the sensation of the small needles. Afterward, your face will feel as if it has been mildly sunburned, but a little moisturizer and some TLC should restore your skin to its normal state.
